Marquee Pays $5.6M For Max Media’s WNKY
Marquee Broadcasting is paying $5.6 million for Max Media’s NBC-CBS affiliate WNKY Bowling Green, Ky. (DMA 181), according to the FCC filing. Marquee also owns WMDT Salisbury, Md.; WGDV-LD and WEVD-LP Dover, Del.; and WGTA Toccoa, Ga. Kalil & Co. brokered the deal.
Max Media has filed an application to sell NBC-CBS affiliate WNKY Bowling Green, Ky. (DMA 181), to Marquee Broadcasting. Marquee also owns WMDT Salisbury, Md.; WGDV-LD and WEVD-LP Dover, Del.; and WGTA Toccoa, Ga. The price was not disclosed. Kalil & Co. brokered the deal.
The commission approves the $18 million purchase of Max Media’s Montana stations announced in October.
Cowles Buying Seven Max Media Stations
The stations, all in Montana, are KULR Billings; KTMF Missoula and Kalispell; KWYB Butte and Bozeman; KFBB Great Falls and KHBB Helena.
D2 Offers A1 Opportunity For Big Four Nets
In dozens of markets, ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC are found on the digital subchannels of full-power stations. The Big Four-D2 affiliations work for the networks and they work for the stations, which might otherwise fill subchannels with second-tier broadcast networks like CW or MNT or one of the myriad start-up networks like ThisTV, LATV, RTN or TheCoolNetwork.
