WBAY GM Don Carmichael To Retire
The head of Media General’s ABC affiliate in Green Bay, Wis., is stepping down at the end of the year after 21 years at the station.
After 40 years in television, the head of NBC’s New York flagship O&O will step down next June. Prior to taking over at WNBC in 2010, Jack ran two other NBC stations, WRC Washington and WCHM Columbus, Ohio.
Longtime KABC GM Arnold Kleiner To Retire
The head of ABC’s Los Angeles O&O will end his 45-year broadcasting career at the end of January. Prior to joining KABC in 1996, he was president-GM of KFMB-AM-FM-TV in San Diego. He began his career with Westinghouse Broadcasting in 1968 as an account executive at KDKA Radio in Pittsburgh.
KMSP-WFTC GM Carol Rueppel Retiring

Ann Compton, who has covered six presidents for ABC News, is retiring after four decades with the network. Compton, president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, has had a career that included being the sold broadcast reporter to remain with President George W. Bush on Air Force One when he was unable to return to Washington after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
