Nielsen says its syndicated VOD Content Ratings from nine networks — including Turner and Discovery Networks — will be included in Nielsen’s Media Impact, a tool media planners use to estimate audience reach, sales and brand equity before committing investment. The tool allows advertisers to reallocate their media mix.
Viacom is expanding its international Play Plex apps, which offer programming from its core networks, to the U.S. and other markets. The suite of apps, which are run by Viacom International Media Networks, includes Nickelodeon Play, Nick Jr. Play, MTV Play and Comedy Central Play.
Nearly 2,300 campaigns ran in Q1 2017, with 75% from paid client ad campaigns and 25% from network TV promos — virtually all occurring mid-roll. Mondelēz International, the giant food manufacturer, wants to come up with a way to make watching the ads that accompany streaming-video as appetizing, say, as its Oreos or Triscuits. The company is teaming up with Fox Networks Group, the 21st Century Fox unit that runs FX, Fox Broadcasting and Fox Sports 1, to figure out how to make ads more appealing to viewers who have been taught not to sit still for traditional commercial breaks.
