Nielsen, SagamoreHill Sign Multi-Year Deal

The group’s WVNC in Watertown, N.Y., and WLTZ in Columbus, Ga., will have access to Nielsen’s local TV measurement services.

Nielsen and SagamoreHill Broadcasting today reached a multi-year agreement for Nielsen local TV measurement services for two of the station group’s markets. The stations are NBC affiliate WVNC Watertown, N.Y. (DMA 178), and NBC-CW affil WLTZ Columbus, Ga.-Opelika, Ala. (DMA 127).

“We are pleased to be working again with Nielsen,” said Louis Wall, SagamoreHill President-CEO. “Their local TV audience research, which includes coverage of broadcast-only homes, will enable us to accurately and comprehensively show our value to advertisers.”

Nielsen said it combines “the scale of big data with in-market local panels to provide the industry with complete, unbiased coverage of the local marketplace including viewing in broadcast-only homes. Nielsen remains the only true persons-level measurement service available to the marketplace.”

With this new agreement, SagamoreHill TV stations will have access to a suite of Nielsen data to demonstrate value to advertisers.

“We’ve always had a great dialogue with SagamoreHill Broadcasting and are delighted to provide them with local measurement again,” said Catherine Herkovic, Nielsen Local EVP and managing director. “We look forward to working with them to showcase their value to advertisers and empower them with stronger measurement and insights that will drive bottom-line business results.”
