Nexstar Appoints Clifford McKinney VP, Head Of Sales At The Hill

He will be responsible for managing the advertising sales team building strategies for the site as well as overseeing the growth of the business footprint across advocacy and corporate environmental, social and governance initiatives.

Nexstar Media Group today appointed Clifford McKinney vice president, head of sales at its political website The Hill. He will be responsible for managing the advertising sales team building strategies for The Hill, which reaches over 47 million lawmakers, policymakers, business leaders and influential digital consumers throughout the U.S. Additionally, he will oversee the growth of the business footprint across advocacy and corporate environmental, social and governance initiatives.

He begins his new duties immediately and reports to Todd Braverman, executive vice president and head of national sales.

McKinney brings over 25 years of experience in sales and management to the Nexstar advertising team, and has worked across every media platform including video, digital, print, and live events. Earlier in his career, he was senior account director at The Hill, and now returns to Nexstar from Bloomberg Media, where he was regional director, corporate and public policy.

Prior to that, he ran his own consultancy, CPM3, and before that, he held numerous senior management positions across the media industry including Katz Television, The Washington Post and The Washington Post Live, CQ-Roll Call, and WJLA Washington. McKinney will be based in Washington, D.C.
