Doug Pfaff Named President Of Katz Digital Video

In his newly expanded role, Pfaff will lead digital video strategy and partnership integrations for Katz. He will also represent Katz in initiatives to improve brand safety and digital standards.

Media sales organization Katz Media Group today promoted Doug Pfaff to president of its Katz Digital Video division. He will continue reporting to Leo MacCourtney, president of Katz Television Group.

In his newly expanded role, Pfaff will lead digital video strategy and partnership integrations for Katz. He will also represent Katz in initiatives to improve brand safety and digital standards. With more than 25 years of media sales experience, Pfaff has helped develop and build Katz’s digital video solutions across a wide portfolio of OTT + live streaming platforms. Under Pfaff’s leadership, Katz has launched three new exclusive marketplaces — Katz OTT, Katz Live and Katz News Network.

  • Katz OTT is the largest independent provider of impressions in a unified ecosystem, reaching targeted viewers at scale, nationwide or by ZIP code, with transparent impression-level data.
  • Katz Live is a live streaming marketplace with exclusive digital feeds of music, sports, e-sports and entertainment available to target audiences when and where they consume live media, including the NFL, NHL, PGA and MLB.
  • Katz News Network is an aggregator of local TV news impressions, bringing together more than 700 stations across 192 DMAs as a scalable TV news network.

Prior to joining Katz, Pfaff was a media buyer before moving into account executive positions at various companies, including Seltel, Telerep and Blair Television. At Blair, he was promoted to vice president, group sales manager and later to vice president, director of sales. Pfaff then became vice president of national advertising sales at Home Team Sports, a Fox Sports Media Group division.  He served in that role for seven years before being promoted to regional vice president of Home Team Sports.
