Tegna’s Vault Studios Premieres ‘True Crime Chronicles’ Podcast

The first two episodes of the True Crime Chronicles podcast by Tegna’s Vault Studios dropped Monday. This is Vault Studios’ second offering, after its March debut of Bomber, which investigated the Austin serial bombings of 2018 and the manhunt that ensued.

True Crime Chronicles is a weekly true crime podcast hosted by Emmy Award-winning Tegna investigative journalist Jessica Noll and Vault Executive Producer Will Johnson. Noll and Johnson will bring audiences a new case each week, spotlighting underreported cases and offering a new perspective on bigger, more well-known stories.

Episode 1 is titled “Little Sky Gone”, and investigates the disappearance of 2-year-old Sky Metalwawa outside Seattle in 2011 and the bizarre circumstances that have baffled law enforcement trying to solve the case.

Episode 2, titled “Mr. X”, looks into the largest cluster of strangulations in American history, in the Atlanta area and why dozens of murders are still unsolved.

Each TCC episode runs between 20 and 45 minutes, with new episodes dropping every Monday.

Will Johnson serves as Tegna’s executive producer, audio and podcasts. Previously, Johnson spent 15 years with Discovery Communications where he produced, launched and oversaw Discovery Networks’ first-ever podcasts. Johnson’s background includes hosting Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl Pre-Game Show and one of Discovery’s longest-running podcasts.
