Aaron Fernandez-Wische Named VP Of Content Creation/Distribution For KRIV-KTXH Houston

Fox Television Stations chooses him to succeed Susan Schiller in leading journalism efforts at its Fox-MNT duopoly.

Fox-owned KRIV (Fox) and KTXH (MNT) in Houston on Tuesday appointed Aaron Fernandez-Wische to vice president of content creation and distribution. He succeeds Susan Schiller, who left the stations in September as VP-news director.

Effective Oct. 25, Fernandez-Wische will oversee all the editorial, business, and administration functions for the KRIV-KTXH news and media content creation and develop vision and strategies across multiple platforms, reporting directly to D’Artagnan Bebel, the stations’ SVP-general manager.

Bebel said: “I am pleased to announce that Aaron will be our next newsroom leader. He clearly understands the disruption and changed landscape of the media business and is ready to help reinvent the information gathering and dissemination process to meet consumers when, where, and how they choose to consume.”

Fernandez-Wische has worked at KPRC since 2012, first as a senior executive producer, and most recently, as assistant news director. Prior to that, he was executive producer of special projects and investigations for KNXV Phoenix, KTVT Dallas, WTTG Washington and WFTS Tampa, Fla.

Previously, Fernandez-Wische served as special projects producer and manager for WEWS Cleveland. Earlier in his career, he was a producer at KRIV Houston, KOTV Tulsa, Okla., and KRIS Corpus Christi, Texas.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Fernandez-Wische holds a Bachelor  of Science degree in broadcast journalism and political science.

To be clear, is he the news director? Because vice president of content creation and distribution is an ambiguous mouthful.
