Adam Henning Named WAAY Huntsville News Director

Allen Media Group’s ABC affiliate WAAY Huntsville-Decatur, Ala., has hired Adam Henning as news director, succeeding Stephen Gallien who will assume the role of assistant news director.

Henning, a newsroom veteran with more than 20 years of experience, returns to the market after serving most recently as vice president of content marketing and customer engagement for TVU Networks in Silicon Valley.  In addition, he brings extensive experience in newsroom leadership over two decades at stations owned by Cox, Sinclair, Gray and others. The recipient of numerous industry accolades, Henning has been honored with multiple Emmys, Associated Press awards and three Murrow awards.

Henning majored in journalism and political science at the University of Florida.
