Brittany Hardaway Joins WREX Rockford As Evening Anchor

Brittany Hardaway, a native of Chicago, Illinois, will join the WREX Rockford, Ill., news team as an evening anchor. Hardaway will join James Stratton, Alex Kirchner and Derek Bayne on the Quincy Media NBC affiliate’s weekday 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts beginning July 1.

Hardaway joins WREX after spending three years as a morning anchor and reporter at WICS Springfield, Ill. Prior to Springfield, Hardaway was a weekend anchor and reporter at WBBJ Jackson, Tenn. She has also worked as an Associate Producer at WSIL Carbondale, Ill.

Hardaway is a 2016 graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in radio/television: electronic journalism.

In addition to her journalism experiences throughout the state of Illinois, Hardaway is also an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
