Gary Wordlaw Named WNDU South Bend News Director

The veteran journalist will oversee journalism at Gray Television’s NBC affiliate.

Gray Television today appointed Gary C. Wordlaw news director of its NBC affiliate WNDU South Bend, Ind. He will be responsible for leading newsgathering efforts on all station platforms and begins his new role on May 22.

Wordlaw began his career in broadcast news more than 35 years ago. After attending college at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, he began working as a reporter, writer, photographer, producer, news director and many other jobs in broadcasting including president and general manager.

Wordlaw has worked in many of the nation’s largest local television markets including Washington, Seattle and Baltimore. He has also lectured at many of the nation’s colleges and universities and most recently consulted with Florida A&M University in the School of Journalism & Graphic Communication.

His numerous awards include honors from RTDNA, NABJ, AP, UPI, the Emmys and others.
