KAPP-KVEW Yakima Adds Anchor-MMJ

Morgan Murphy Media-owned ABC affiliates KAPP-KVEW Yakima/Tri-Cities, Wash. (DMA 118) has hired Madeleine Hagen as anchor-multimedia journalist.

Hagen, the former Madeleine Dart before recently getting married, comes to KAPP-KVEW from KIII Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was a reporter.

“We’re excited to get someone with Maddie’s experience,” said KAPP-KVEW News Director Matt Van Slyke. “She’s been reporting and anchoring since high school. While in Corpus Christi, she got to cover several big stories including Hurricane Harvey.”

“I’m really excited to join KAPP/KVEW and to movie to the Yakima/Tri-Cities area,” Hagen says. “Although Sacramento is my home, my second home is Sammamish, Wash., so it’s like a homecoming, and it’s nice to be on the sunnier side of the Cascades.”

Hagen has a BA in journalism from the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno, with a minor in political science.
