KNBC-KVEA To Host Live Los Angeles Mayoral Debate

As the November election draws near for voters to elect the next mayor of the City of Los Angeles, NBC’s KNBC and Telemundo’s KVEA will host a mayoral debate with Rep. Karen Bass and entrepreneur Rick Caruso. The live debate will be broadcast on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Brokaw News Center located on the Universal Studios Lot. The debate format will be commercial-free in English and Spanish.

KNBC Chief Political Reporter and News Conference Anchor Conan Nolan, KNBC anchor Colleen Williams and KVEA news anchor Dunia Elvir will moderate the debate, covering a range of issues including the economy, housing, homelessness, crime/public safety, among other concerns.

“NBC4 and Telemundo 52 look forward to joining forces and lead an important conversation with the candidates for mayor in the second largest city in the nation, digging deep into the topics that matter most to our multi-cultural and diverse viewers,” said Todd Mokhtari, the stations’ president and general manager. “Our priority is to provide a substantive, balanced debate aimed at helping the voters of Los Angeles make an informed decision this November.”

The event will air on KNBC and KVEA, and stream at nbcla.comtelemundo52.com, and on social media platforms @NBCLA and @Telemundo52. Additionally, viewers can watch from anywhere on the free NBCLA and Telemundo 52 apps on streaming platforms Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and Samsung. The debate will also air on the NBC Los Angeles News Channel on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service.
