Marcelo Rivera Joins KSTS San Jose As Weekend Weather Anchor

Telemundo’s KSTS San Jose, Calif., today appointed Marcelo Rivera as the new weekend weather anchor for Noticiero Telemundo 48 al Mediodía and on Telemundo 48 weekend newscasts.

His journey from Puerto Rico to Texas and now Northern California, combined with his passion for meteorology, brings valuable expertise. We anticipate his contributions will enhance our commitment to delivering accurate and insightful weather reports to our Northern California viewers.”

Currently a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in meteorology at Mississippi State University, Rivera’s passion for weather was ignited at the age of 5 when Hurricane Hugo swept through his native Puerto Rico. His diverse background includes roles as a data & management specialist for a private company and an associate registrar at universities in Puerto Rico and Texas.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rivera’s journey has woven through different disciplines and geographic locations, culminating in his final year of study in operational meteorology and television. His academic achievements also include a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ana F. Mendez University and a master’s degree in labor relations from Interamerican University in Puerto Rico.
