Meredith Taps Matt King As Atlanta News Director

Meredith’s has named Matt King news director for its duopoly of WGCL (CBS) and WPCH (ind.) Atlanta (DMA 10).

King joins from WCNC Charlotte, N.C., where he has been the executive news director for the past five years. Under his leadership, the station won six regional Edward R. Murrow Awards including. Most recently King’s team was awarded the 2019 Mid-South Regional Emmy for News Excellence.

Prior to Charlotte, he spent three years in Atlanta as the assistant news director at WXIA. He also spent time at WTSP Tampa, Fla., and WUSA Washington.

King earned his bachelor’s degree in telecommunications and political science from The University of Florida.
