Spectrum News Brings Local News To Spectrum TV Lineup In Maine

Spectrum News today announced the linear TV launch of its 24/7 news network serving Spectrum customers throughout Maine. Previously launched as a streaming network in fall of 2023, Spectrum News Maine features local headlines at the top and bottom of every hour and hyperlocal weather forecasts every 10 minutes on the 1’s. The new linear network is available to Spectrum customers on channel 1, as well as the Spectrum News App for mobile, Xumo Stream Box, Roku and Apple TV.

Spectrum News Maine integrates Spectrum News+, which curates nationally relevant local stories from across the country, and local coverage from on-the-ground reporters in Maine.

“We are living in a time when reliable local news is more important – and harder to find – than it has ever been,” said Sam Singal, Spectrum Networks group vice president editorial and content. “All of our Spectrum News networks are driven by a deep commitment to providing objective and trusted journalism, but as a Mainer with family in the state, I’m especially looking forward to sharing our work with communities there.”

Since its 2021 launch as a digital-only local news platform in the state, Spectrum News has established itself in the Maine community, covering local conservation efforts, severe weather and breaking news events.

Spectrum News has continued to expand its reach in recent years, launching its national streaming news network, Spectrum News+, as well as linear TV news networks in seven states; introducing a mobile news app with more than 3.7 million downloads; debuting three digital local news operations; and creating its local connected TV news app on Xumo Stream Box, Roku and Apple TV, underscoring its commitment to making Spectrum News available and accessible across diverse platforms.
