Trump Attacks Papers Defending Free Press

After 350 American newspapers published editorials condemning increasing attacks on a free press, President Donald Trump attacked the initiative. Trump tweets: "There is nothing that I would want more for our Country than true FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. The fact is that the Press is FREE to write and say anything it wants, but much of what it says is FAKE NEWS, pushing a political agenda or just plain trying to hurt people. HONESTY WINS!"

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is lashing out at the press as newspapers nationwide launch a coordinated rebuttal to his attacks against what he calls “fake news.”

Trump tweets: “There is nothing that I would want more for our Country than true FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. The fact is that the Press is FREE to write and say anything it wants, but much of what it says is FAKE NEWS, pushing a political agenda or just plain trying to hurt people. HONESTY WINS!”

Trump is sensitive about his media coverage and says the press is “fake” and the “enemy of the people.”

Trump also is criticizing The Boston Globe, which spearheaded the newspaper editorial campaign. He tweets that the Globe “is in COLLUSION with other papers on free press. PROVE IT!”

Trump claiming he’s the pillar of honesty as compared to America’s media is a lot Nixon’s “I am not a crook!” – only he’s 100x worse.

Trump says “…honesty wins…” How ironic coming from a guy who doesn’t know the definition of the word (Mr. Alternative Facts!)

This would be Dictator does not get to unilaterally decide what is fake. His track record of lies alone would disqualify his news judgment. But, the bigger issue is he does not even understand the concept of a Free Press…nor the protections from an autocratic executive enshrined in the Constitution. The People of the United States rely on a free press, Not subject to government control or the whims of government authority to guarantee access to facts and competing points of view. He violates his Oath of office every time he attacks the First Amendment and the rights enshrined therein.

Not very accurate, as the media is not 90% “Fake News.” How’s that, Mr. Anonymous Coward?

Trump can’t handle the pressure of being President of the United States… He’s mentally, politically, ethically and morally unfit to be President… It’s a new all-time-low for the American presidency…

He attacks anything and anyone who doesn’t profoundly kiss his ass on both cheeks. He’s not a president, he’s a tin pot 3rd world dictator.
