WBFF Baltimore Ups Bubala, Adds News At 6 P.M.

Sinclair-owned Fox affiliate WBFF Baltimore (DMA 26) has promoted reporter Mary Bubala to main evening news anchor effective Wednesday, Nov. 27. Bubala will co-anchor every evening newscast with current anchor Kai Jackson. Bubala replaces long-time anchor Jennifer Gilbert who recently announced her retirement from TV news.

Also announced today, WBFF will expand its local news coverage with the addition of Fox45 News at 6:00. The thirty-minute evening newscast will follow Fox45 News at 4:00 and Fox45 News at 5:00 to create a two and a half-hour block of locally-produced news. Fox45 News at 6:00 will launch on Monday, Jan.13, 2020.

Veteran TV journalist Mary Bubala has been reporting stories from Baltimore and Maryland communities for 30 years. She joined the Fox45 as a special projects reporter in September. She has also been co-hosting popular town hall sessions with anchor Kai Jackson in Fox45 News’ on-going coverage of a “City in Crisis.” Bubala and Jackson were once a co-anchor team at WJZ Baltimore.
