Fox Weather Hits The Road With New Series ‘Cruisin’ Across America’

Fox Weather, Fox News Media’s free ad-supported streaming television service, will debut a new segment series on July 13 entitled Cruisin’ Across America. Hosted by correspondent Robert Ray, the series will take viewers from coast-to-coast spotlighting areas that have been impacted by major weather events while highlighting the local culture, food and communities.

Kicking off in Jacksonville, Fla., on Thursday, July 13, Ray will be driving the Fox Weather Beast, a Ford F-250 used for storm chasing that is equipped with satellite that allows reporters to go live from anywhere regardless of conditions on the ground. Additionally, he’ll be making stops in New Orleans, La., Houston, San Antonio and El Paso, Texas, Tucson and Tombstone, Arizona, before concluding his trip in Twentynine Palms, Cabazon and finally, Santa Monica, Calif., on July 20. He will visit a number of revered spots including Café du Monde, the San Antonio Riverwalk, Saguaro National Park and Joshua Tree National Park.

Ray is an Atlanta-based correspondent who has been with Fox Weather since the FAST channel launched in 2021. Last year, he traveled to 39 different states on assignment for Fox Weather. In over 20 years in the field, he has covered 43 hurricanes, the 2004 Tsunami in Indonesia, the war in Iraq and much more.

The complete itinerary:

Day 1: July 13 | Jacksonville Beach, FL

Ray will begin his journey on the Panhandle that got slammed by Category 5 Hurricane Michael in 2018.

Day 2: July 14 | New Orleans, LA

Ray will visit Jackson Square, Cafe du Monde and then journey up the Mississippi River to end up in Lake Charles which was slammed by a Category 4 Hurricane Laura.

Day 3: July 15 | Houston

Ray will visit local BBQ restaurants before paying a visit to Fox-affiliate KRIV-TV.

Day 4: July 16 | San Antonio, Texas

Ray will begin with a walk down the San Antonio Riverwalk, before visiting a Mexican Restaurant on the way out of town. He will conclude his visit with a trip to the Fort Lancaster State Historic Site.

Day 5: July 17 | El Paso, Texas

Ray will visit the world’s largest spring-fed pool at Balmorhea State Park. The San Solomon Springs pumps 15 million gallons of clean water into it each day, creating a natural, non-chlorinated swimming hole. He’ll then stop at Chicos Tacos in El Paso, before traveling west through New Mexico to explore the desert landscape.

Day 6: July 18 | Arizona

Making a few stops in Arizona, Ray will begin town of Tombstone, where the infamous gunfight at the O.K. Corral took place. He’ll then visit The Pima Air and Space Museum, which is one of the largest air and space museums in the country, housing more than 300 historically significant aircraft. He’ll then finish with a scenic cruise through Saguaro National Park.

Day 7: July 19 | California

Ray arrives in California where he’ll visit the Joshua Tree National Park to check out its well-recognizable trees and fascinating geological formations. He will also hike out to Skull Rock for climbing and boulder scrambling. He’ll then finish the day at an iconic California roadside attraction to see the Cabazon Dinosaurs.

Day 8: July 20 | Santa Monica, Calif.

Ray will wrap up his weeklong adventure with a trip to the iconic Santa Monica Pier.
