Game shows remain an enduring favorite with viewers, but even the TV’s strongest performers must iterate constantly to remain dynamic — and interactive — with audiences. A panel at TVNewsCheck’s Programming Everywhere conference at the NAB Show on April 14 will find leading game show executives sharing their strategies for keeping shows fresh and audiences playing along.

Mike Benson, president and CMO, CBS; Stephen Brown, EVP, programming and development, Fox First Run and Fox Television Stations; Laura Florence, senior vice president of global FAST channels, Fremantle; and Jeff Apploff, president-CEO, Apploff Entertainment, will join moderator Paige Albiniak, contributing editor, TVNewsCheck, for the 10:15 a.m. discussion.

“Audiences love game shows, but they want to be involved in the action themselves,” said Michael Depp, chief content officer, NewsCheckMedia and editor of TVNewsCheck. “This panel will dive into the multiplatform strategies game shows are adopting to realize that interactivity and become habitual viewing for viewers who can now lean in that much further.”

Programming Everywhere convenes programming executives, leaders in news, digital and streaming, technologists, talent and content creators from across multiple media to catalyze new thinking for TV’s future. Other panels include:

  • Programming Leaders on Ideas Beyond Boundaries
  • Building the Next Gen Talk Show
  • Beyond Newscasts: Meeting Programming Needs With Newsy Content
  • Social Media / Streaming Stars on Growing Niches Into Audiences
  • Using AI as a Creative Content Tool
