Yessi Hernandez Named Host Of WNJU’s ‘Acceso Total’

Telemundo’s WNJU New York has named Yessi Hernandez as news and entertainment anchor and host of Acceso Total, the station’s entertainment and lifestyle program airing Monday to Fridays at 11:30 a.m. ET, along with special segments airing within the station’s 5 p.m. weekday newscast.  A Venezuelan native, Hernandez worked as interim host of Acceso Total since February, 2023 and brings more than a decade of media experience into her new, full-time role.

The co-founder of the independent theater company Corezon and cultural website “La Guía Cultural” in New York, Hernandez is recipient of HOLA, Latin ACE, ATI, Talía and ARTE Awards for her work as an actress and playwright. In 2022, Hernandez won first place in Voces Latinx, a national playwriting competition organized by the Miranda Family and Repertorio Español for her play Las Vidas Rotas.

Prior to arriving in the Tri-State area, Hernandez was the host of the Venezuelan primetime entertainment show Soy un Boom and voice of radio stations Hot 94.1 FM and 88.1 FM.

Hernandez is of Cuban and Spanish descent and a graduate of Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and has a master’s degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela.
