24i Appoints Debbie Phillips Chief Operating Officer

24i, an end-to-end video streaming provider, has named Debbie Phillips chief operating officer.

Phillips brings experience in managing large teams within the streaming media industry, having spent more than 10 years at Ericsson/Red Bee Media Services heading up global operations, as well as a previous role as director of operations for Virgin Media. More recently, she held leadership positions at Rackspace and in the data center solutions business unit of global real estate company CBRE.

24i CEO Joachim Bergman said: “In the past few years, 24i has evolved from a creator of front-end apps to a company that delivers end-to-end streaming services for both pay TV and OTT companies. As we transition to a greater focus on fully operated streaming services, including our TV as a Service offering, it’s essential we keep the needs of our customers at the heart of our transformation. Debbie’s experience makes her the perfect person to drive this effort. I know she’ll help us get the very best out of our brilliant engineering teams who collectively design, develop, quality assure and support our end-to-end offering so we can continue to super-serve our customers and their end-users.”

Phillips said: “I began my career working for a broadband service provider where I had customer service excellence more or less written into my DNA. Every role I’ve been in since has involved the delivery of high volume, high availability services at scale, to global customers and audiences. I’m looking forward to bringing the benefit of those experiences to the 24i team who already have a fantastic reputation for user experience excellence.”

She will be based in the U.K. but will work with 24i staff across Europe and the Americas: “I’m looking forward to getting out to meet our teams and of course our customers. COVID-19 travel restrictions mean it’s not possible from day one, but I’ve already started meeting the teams virtually and will be travelling as soon as it’s permitted.”
