Amanda Barren Promoted To Main Anchor At WSAZ

Gray Television’s NBC affiliate WSAZ Charleston-Huntington, W.Va. (DMA 65), has promoted Amanda Barren to its newscasts at 6 and 11 p.m., joining Tim Irr as co-anchor. She will anchor from WSAZ’s Charleston studios, while Irr will be in Huntington.

Barren served as a WSAZ anchor and reporter beginning in 2006. From 2010 to 2012 she anchored at WKYC Cleveland. She rejoined the WSAZ in December 2012, co-anchoring the First at 5:00 newscast with Bill Murray.

Barren will also anchor WSAZ Ten O’clock News on the station’s myZ TV subchannel.
