AMC Networks 1Q Revenue, Profit Rises

(RTTNews) — AMC Networks Inc. reported a first-quarter net income of $43.2 million or $0.60 per share, up from $29.8 million or $0.43 per share in the comparable quarter last year. Income from continuing operations was $43.1 million, compared to $29.7 million in the year-ago quarter.

On average, 11 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.44 per share for the quarter. Analysts’ estimates typically exclude special items.

Net revenues for the quarter rose 19.5 percent to $326.2 million from $272.9 million a year ago. Analysts expected revenues of $301.61 million for the quarter.
