Anchor-Reporter Amanda Raus Joins WTIC Hartford

Tribune Broadcasting’s Fox affiliate WTIC Hartford, Conn. (DMA 30), today Amanda Raus will join the station as an anchor and reporter on June 30.  Raus will join the morning news team alongside Tim Lammers, Erika Arias, Joe Furey, Rachael Lutzker, Dan Amarante and Maggie Slysz.

Raus joins from WVIT Hartford, where she was a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor.  While at WVIT, Raus was nominated for an Emmy Award and won a Connecticut Associated Press Broadcast Award for her coverage of the Joshua Komisarjevsky trial. She was also part of the team that was awarded a George Foster Peabody Award for the station’s coverage of Sandy Hook.

Prior to joining WVIT in 2007, Raus was a general assignment reporter and a fill-in anchor at WSHM Springfield, Mass.

She began her career as a freelance reporter and associate producer at News 12 Connecticut.

Raus holds a Master of Business Administration from Quinnipiac University and a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
