Brad Remington Named KMGH-KZCO GM

The former KTVK Phoenix news director takes the reins March 9 at the Scripps ABC-Azteca duopoly in Denver. He previously worked at KMGH as managing editor from 1989 to 1996.

E.W. Scripps Co.’s ABC affiliate KMGH Denver (DMA 17) appointed Brad Remington vice president and general manager, effective March 9. In addition to the responsibilities at KMGH, Remington also will oversee operations of co-owned Azteca affiliate KZCO-LD, housed in the same building as KMGH.

Remington succeeds interim GM Steve Wasserman, a Scripps exec who took over after former GM Byron Grandy left the station in September.

Remington’s most recently was executive news director at KTVK, an independent station in Phoenix.

Remington had two prior stints in Denver. He spent seven years at KMGH as managing editor from 1989 to 1996. In 2006 he was news director at KDVR, the Fox affiliate.

Remington returned to Denver in 2013, as a business entrepreneur.

He was news director at KTVI St. Louis from 1999-2006. From 1996 to1999, he was news director at KOB Albuquerque, N.M.

Good for Remmington and for KMGH. The guy seems to improve every place he’s landed.
