Tegna’s David Lougee, NBC Owned TV Stations’ Valari Staab, Sinclair’s Chris Ripley and Hearst’s Jordan Wertlieb will appear on a panel at the second annual TV2020 conference at NAB Show New York. The focus of the CEO session — and the conference at large — will be monetizing the future.

The top executives of four TV station groups will assess the state of the TV broadcasting business and pinpoint opportunities for growth at TVNewsCheck’s second annual TV2020 conference in New York.

David Lougee, president and CEO of Tegna Inc.; Valari Staab, president of NBC Owned Television Stations; Chris Ripley, president and CEO of Sinclair Broadcast Group; and Jordan Wertlieb, president of Hearst Television, will appear on a panel, moderated by TVNewsCheck Editor Harry A. Jessell, that will look ahead at opportunities in ATSC 3.0, OTT, advanced advertising, digital media and more.

“TV broadcasting faces genuine challenges,” says Jessell. “This panel is an opportunity to see how the industry’s top leaders are meeting those challenges, getting the most from existing revenue streams and developing new ones. We’ll talk about local news innovation, the sagging spot TV business, the promise of deregulation, industry consolidation and the prospects for new businesses and service enhancements from ATSC 3.0, next-gen TV.”

Set for Wednesday, Oct. 18, TV 2020: Monetizing the Future will take place at NAB Show New York. The conference, launched last year to explore the potential for monetizing ATSC 3.0, has expanded its focus in 2017 to include sessions on OTT; targeted advertising; digital media; the investment case for transitioning television technology to IP infrastructure; and the future of daytime TV.

TV2020 is a TVNewsCheck conference presented at NAB Show New York, which aims to connect the next generation of storytellers to the technology and innovation fostering new content strategies to inform, educate and entertain. Produced by the National Association of Broadcasters, the event is co-located with the annual AES Convention and is also part of The Media Collective, a weeklong collaboration of media and entertainment events providing greater exposure to global thought leaders, innovative solutions and new platforms.
