Chris Cato Joining WCAU As Anchor/Reporter
NBC-owned WCAU Philadelphia (DMA 4) announced today that Chris Cato will be joining the station as weekend anchor starting at the end of the month. Cato will anchor NBC10 News at 6 and 11 p.m. on weekends with co-anchor Denise Nakano. In addition, he will contribute reports to the station’s weekday newscasts.
Cato joins WCAU from WSPA Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C., where he has worked since 2005. In 2008, he moved to the anchor desk for the station’s 5:30 and 7 p.m. newscasts. Cato began his career as a reporter at WMBB Panama City, Fla., where he eventually anchored the station’s evening newscasts.
Cato graduated summa cum laude from Alabama’s Troy University with a double major in broadcast journalism and speech communication.
