David Williams Joins KCBD As News Director

Raycom Media-owned NBC affiliate KCBD Lubbock, Texas (DMA 145), today named David Williams news director.

He has more than 20 years of experience in broadcasting, and is the recipient of numerous awards including two Emmy Awards and a Regional Murrow Award.

Williams’ appointment at KCBD is a homecoming to Raycom Media.

Most recently, he was assistant news director of WHNT Huntsville, Ala.

Prior to taking that role, he was News Director at KPLC Lake Charles, La., and executive producer of WSFA Montgomery, Ala., both Raycom Media stations.

Williams has helped newsrooms become market leaders in the digital space, and he said he plans to continue that mission in his role as news director of KCBD.
