DirecTV, AT&T Drop American Spirit Stations

DirecTV has dropped seven American Media Stations and AT&T has dropped another four stations carried on its U-Verse platform.

As of 11:59 p.m. ET on Sept. 21, DirecTV dropped seven American Spirit Media stations from its lineup in seven local markets. In addition, AT&T, which recently acquired DirecTV, has also dropped American Spirit Media stations carried on its U-Verse platform in four markets. The stations are Raycom sidecars.

The disruption follows multiple short-term extensions by American Spirit Media over the last several weeks.

“Our number one goal during negotiations like these is to prevent any inconvenience to our viewers,” said Tom Henson, owner of American Spirit Media. “Unfortunately, DirecTV did not share that goal, and their customers are paying the price.”

The DirecTV disruption affects viewers in Richmond, Va.; Jackson, Miss., Toledo, Ohio, Columbus, Ga. Wilmington, N.C., Wichita Falls, Tex. and Lake Charles, La. The AT&T action affects U-Verse viewers in Columbus, Ga., Jackson, Miss., Toledo, Ohio and Wilmington, N.C.
