Entravision, Syndicaster In Multiyear Deal

The new agreement renews a partnership for 56 TV stations and is expanded to include 49 radio stations.

Critical Media’s Syndicaster platform will power an expansion of video content on the digital websites operated by Entravision Communications Corp.’s television stations, radio stations and dozens of other interactive properties, the companies announced today at the NAB Show.

A user of Syndicaster since 2010, Entravision has a focused strategy to extend its core television, radio and interactive franchises to digital audiences and to be the premier online local news source for the Latino community. Entravision renewed a multiyear agreement with Syndicaster for 56 television stations and 49 radio stations owned and operated by the company.

“Entravision places significant value on delivering to its online audiences high-quality and timely video news content,” said Ion Puspurica, EVP-GM of the Media Services Group for Critical Media. “We are pleased that Syndicaster has made it possible for Entravision’s radio stations to enhance the video offering of their digital properties.”

“Our digital properties are a strategic part of our diversified media platform and we are excited to expand our partnership with Critical Media to enhance our offering,” said Jeffery A. Liberman, Entravision chief operating officer. “We know our radio listeners enjoy seeing the voices behind the microphones and using Syndicaster makes it incredibly easy for all our radio websites and digital properties to benefit from a steady stream of fresh video content.”

Entravision’s 56 TV stations are among the more than 30% of local news television stations who are using Syndicaster. The system allows for the capture and creation of real-time, high definition video clips, enabling delivery to online, mobile and tablet-viewing audiences within 60 seconds of airtime and placing content into revenue-generating syndication online. Entravision’s TV news digital production has grown 10-fold in the last three years and has produced more than 100,000 unique online local news videos in partnership with Syndicaster during that time.

The team managing Entravision’s radio properties are now using Syndicaster to curate, edit, title, tag and publish relevant video news segments from sister television properties. In addition, on-air personalities from Entravision radio stations are increasingly capturing in-studio events and interviews previously available only in audio.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

“Radio has some of the best local news and interviews of any media, but much of this content has been vanishing into thin air. We’re changing that,” continued Puspurica. “Using Syndicaster, radio stations can now create and monetize video content online. This provides radio stations the same opportunities enjoyed by both TV broadcasters and video-producing newspapers.”
