GOP Wants NBC, CNN To Pull Clinton Shows

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus calls the programs political ads "masquerading" as unbiased productions. He vows not to partner with the networks on GOP debates if they don't pull the programs.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Republican National Committee wants NBC and CNN to cancel upcoming programs on Hillary Rodham Clinton and is threatening to blackball the networks from future Republican presidential debates if they fail to comply.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus calls the programs political ads “masquerading” as unbiased productions. He vows not to partner with the networks on GOP debates if they don’t pull the programs.

Clinton has not yet said whether she’ll run for president again in 2016.

CNN Films is planning a feature-length film on the former first lady and secretary of state for next year.

NBC has announced a miniseries “Hillary” starring Diane Lane. It is expected to be released before the 2016 presidential election.

NBC Entertainment declined comment on the RNC request. CNN did not immediately comment.

That’s all the GOP can do these days. They scream and yell but accomplish nothing.

Really? Now the Republicans want to say what a channel can and can’t show? How petty.

I side with Jonah Goldberg, who recently wrote, “Can you think of a single truly interesting thing Hillary Clinton has ever said? Before you answer, let me narrow the terms. Wildly implausible statements about how she parlayed pocket change into $100,000 in the commodities markets simply by reading the Wall Street Journal don’t count. Neither do her explanations of how her Whitewater billing records miraculously appeared out of thin air in the most secure building in America. Nor do her explanations of how and why she stuck by her husband.”

And these are the same people who accuse PBS of having a liberal bias and want to defund it?

The GOP might have a point given that Hillary “What difference, at this point, does it make?” Clinton has hinted at a possible run for the White House. But they shouldn’t worry. By the time 2015 rolls around, the nation will have been throughly fed up with Obama (as they already are with Weiner) and the Democratic Party as a whole.
