Justice Network To Debut 2 Original Series

Justice Network, the multicast network specializing in crime and justice programming, will premiere two original series March 6, the network disclosed Friday.

The two shows are the first-ever originals for Justice, whose other shows are generally law-enforcement series repurposed from elsewhere such as Alaska State Troopers (National Geographic Channel), Cold Case Files (A&E), Border Wars (also NatGeo) and others.

The new series, Killing Spree and Inside the Mind of a Serial Killer, will premiere back-to-back on Sunday, March 6, starting at 9 p.m. ET. The Killing Spree premiere will tell the story of Andrew Cunanan, killer of fashion icon Gianni Versace; and the Serial Killer episode will be about Anthony Sowell, who became known as the Cleveland Strangler.

“Inside the Mind of a Serial Killer and Killing Spree examine some of the most complex criminal minds in recent history,” said John Ford, head of programming for the Justice Network, in a prepared statement. “Bringing these two original series to viewers for the first time in the United States illustrates Justice’s commitment to cutting-edge mystery and investigations content that both informs and entertains.”

Both shows are co-productions between Justice Network and TwoFour Productions (Killing Spree) and Zodiak Productions (Serial Killer). Barry Wallach, former president of NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution, is handling distribution for Justice Network, a diginet carried by Tegna stations in a number of markets, as well as other station groups.
