KMTV Expands 4 P.M. News To One Hour

The expanded weekday newscast launches Aug. 25. In addition, the station names Phil Aldridge its new sports director.

Journal Broadcast Group’s CBS affiliate KMTV Omaha, Neb. (DMA 75), announced today it is expanding its 4 p.m. news to one hour beginning Monday, Aug. 25.

From Monday through Friday, the show will be anchored by Jennifer Griswold and Craig Nigrelli, along with Meteorologist Jim Flowers.

“We’ve been greatly encouraged by Omaha’s response to our 4 p.m. news,” said Christopher Sehring, VP-GM of KMTV. “Adding a 4:30 p.m. news is the next step in our efforts to provide our viewers with more local news coverage.”

Immediately following Action 3 News Upfront at 4 p.m. will be Action 3 News Live at 5 p.m. OK! TV, which aired at 4:30 p.m., will now air at 11 p.m. on Saturdays.

KMTV also named Phil Aldridge the station’s new sports director. Before coming to Omaha, Aldridge worked at KMGH Denver as a sports anchor/reporter. Aldridge is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston.
