KTNV Las Vegas Hires Prize Fight Specialist

Journal Broadcast Group-owned ABC affiliate KTNV Las Vegas (DMA 41) has hired national sports reporter Jon Saraceno as exclusive analyst for coverage leading up to what’s being billed as “The Fight of the Century” between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao on May 2. 

“We’re extremely excited,” said Jim Prather, EVP-GM of KTNV. “Jon will be our go-to guy for unique and different stories. His first day on the job, he secured an exclusive one-on-one with Manny Pacquiao at his gym in Los Angeles.”  

KTNV News aired part of that interview on March 11.

“Jon has covered more than 200 championship fights and is uniquely qualified to report on The Fight of The Century,” Prather added.  “This is more than just a sports story. It’s going to be the biggest sports event ever in the history of Las Vegas and Jon will provide a special edge in making sure it’s reported right.” 

Saraceno has longstanding relationships with many leading names in the boxing world, including boxing promoter and businessman Bob Arum. He has worked ringside as a fight analyst for ESPN and other networks, and continues to work as an overseas correspondent for Sky Sports News in London.
