Kudrle Named TVN’s Tech Woman To Watch

Sara Kudrle has been named TVNewsCheck’s 2015 Technology Woman to Watch.

She will be honored during TVN’s Women in Technology Awards presentation during the NAB Show in Las Vegas next month.

Kudrle, a 16-year broadcasting industry veteran, works with industry engineers to help shape future solutions for Grass Valley, a Belden Inc. brand, while also educating customers and the company’s sales teams on new product features and the evolving direction of industry technology.

Prior to her current post, she was senior software engineer at Miranda, a company acquired by Belden in 2012. She has also worked at NVision, Tektronix and Continental Electronics, which became part of ADC Broadcast Systems, and later Axcera.

Kudrle, who serves as Western Region Governor for the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, has written papers for the NAB, PBS and SMPTE conferences. She received SMPTE’s 2012 Journal Award for her contribution to the paper, “Fingerprinting for Solving A/V Synchronization Issues Within Broadcast Environments.”

“Sara Kudrle is a rising star in the television engineering management world,” said Kathy Haley, TVNewsCheck co-founder and publisher, in announcing the award. “Not only is she helping to advance solutions and solve problems, but she is also a strong communicator who actively participates in the conversation about where the industry is headed.”

TVNewsCheck will honor Kudrle during the same ceremony and reception that will present TVN’s 2015 Women in Technology Leadership Award to Cindy Hutter Cavell, senior engineer and practice manager at technology consulting firm Cavell Mertz & Associates. The ceremony and reception will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, in Room N-227-228 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
