LAFF Comedy Diginet Lands Five Sitcoms

The Drew Carey Show and Ellen will be among the sitcoms the Katz Broadcasting-owned comedy network will air when it launches on April 15. LAFF currently has distribution deals with the ABC Owned and Scripps station groups.

LAFF, the first network devoted to full-time comedy, is building its lineup of funny stuff, landing the rights to air five contemporary sitcoms when it lauches April 15.

In an announcement today, the Katz Broadcasting-owned network said it has acquired the rights to The Drew Carey Show and Night Court from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution; Ellen and Empty Nest from Disney/ABC; and Grace Under Fire from Carsey-Werner Productions.
 
“These are iconic series featuring some of the funniest comedic talents and memorable characters of our time,” Jonathan Katz, President and CEO of Katz Broadcasting, said in a statement.  “We’re assembling an all-star comedy line-up and will be announcing more acquisitions shortly.”
 
LAFF will feature a mix of contemporary off-network sitcoms and movies, with a target audience of adults 18-49. LAFF will air on broadcast TV, boosted by companion digital content on LAFF.com and via the LAFF app.

LAFF has distribution deals with the ABC Owned Television Stations and Scripps groups, which will make the network LAFF available to more than 35% of the country, according to the network.

how thin can you slice the audience , one tenth of a point or one quarter , seems like the latest diginets are lillte late to the party !!Time will tell.

    Because of the margin of error, I do not believe Nielsen allows 0.025 of a rating point to be calculated….it will either be 0.0 or 0.1.
