Luken Names Art Lanham Sales/Affil. Relations SVP

Luken Communications today appointed Art Lanham senior vice president of sales and affiliate relations. In this newly created role, Lanham, a veteran of the television broadcast industry, will oversee management of Luken’s affiliate and advertising sales teams, personally develop key national accounts and collaborate with Luken’s leadership team on the company’s strategic plans.

Luken’s multicast networks include Retro TV, The Heartland Network, Rev’n, The Action Channel, The Family Channel and Frost Great Outdoors (FGO). 

Emily Bronze, Luken’s VP of corporate affairs, said: “Art Lanham has a storied career in the broadcast industry and is an accomplished television executive, with over 25 years as a general manager, sales director, senior management executive and former station owner. With his previous successes and experience, Art is perfectly tailored to spearhead our distribution and advertising sales efforts.” Bronze added, “We are all thrilled to welcome him to the Luken family.”

Lanham most recently was VP-GM of WAAY Huntsville, Ala. His time in Huntsville also included service as a board member to the Alabama Broadcasters Association.

Prior to that, he managed Media General’s JSA partner stations, WKPT-WAPK Tri-Cities, Tenn., was the GM of Sinclair’s KMWB Minneapolis-St. Paul, and was the GM of Quorum Broadcasting’s KARD Monroe, La.

He also was president-CEO and majority shareholder of White Knight Broadcasting, owner of KMSS Shreveport, La.  While at KMSS, Lanham was elected to the nine-member Fox Network Affiliate Board of Governors, where he served as an officer and representative for five years during the early development of the Fox Network, serving more than 150 Fox affiliates. While on the Fox Board he also served as Chairman of the Fox Children’s Network Oversight Committee.

Lanham is a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, with a BS in communications.
