DMA 51: NEW ORLEANS

Mark Parrick Joins WDSU As Assistant News Dir.

Hearst Television’s NBC affiliate WDSU New Orleans (DMA 51) has hired Mark Parrick as assistant news director. The station said he is expected to begin in early September. 

Parrick joins WDSU from WDAF Kansas City where he spent the last three years as an executive producer.

Before Kansas City, Parrick was the morning producer at WFLA Tampa-St. Petersburg, where he covered a number of major news events, including a Republican National Convention, a Super Bowl and a World Series.

He began his career at WHOI Peoria, Ill, about 40 miles from his hometown. He later worked as a producer at WHBF and WQAD in the Quad Cities.

Parrick earned his B.A. in broadcast journalism from Western Illinois University.
