Meredith Creates Emerging Markets Group

Pete Snyder is tapped to be president of the new group that will contain Meredith Integrated Marketing's current social marketing (New Media Strategies) and mobile marketing (The Hyperfactory) capabilities. Going forward, it will also represent the newly evolving marketing agencies associated most closely with engagement marketing.

Meredith Corp. today named Pete Snyder president of its newly created Emerging Markets Group, effective immediately. Snyder will continue to report to Meredith Integrated Marketing President Martin Reidy.

The Emerging Markets Group will contain Meredith Integrated Marketing’s current social marketing (New Media Strategies) and mobile marketing (The Hyperfactory) capabilities. Going forward, it will also represent the newly evolving marketing agencies associated most closely with engagement marketing.

“Social media and mobile marketing are the fastest-growing marketing channels within the red-hot digital space and are becoming increasingly intertwined as the digital world evolves,” Reidy said. “The creation of the Emerging Markets Group will enable us to grow our leadership position in the digital marketing industry as we exceed our clients’ needs, and help them innovate and evolve in an ever-changing marketplace.”

Snyder will continue to serve as CEO of New Media Strategies, and also assist Reidy and Hyperfactory CEO Derek Handley with strategy, direction, sales and marketing for The Hyperfactory. Snyder, Reidy and Meredith Chief Development Officer John Zieser will work together to find opportunities to expand Meredith Integrated Marketing in the digital space, both organically or through acquisitions.

Snyder, founder of New Media Strategies, is often credited as the pioneer of social media marketing.

Handley, founder of The Hyperfactory, is, according to Meredith, an expert in mobile marketing serving a blue-chip client list for The Hyperfactory which includes such companies as Disney, Coca-Cola, and Kraft among others.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

“Both organizations possess some of the sharpest minds in the marketing industry,” says Reidy. “Going forward, we anticipate extensive collaboration as they work together to exceed client needs on a daily basis, driving revenue and profit growth in the process.”
