Meteorologist Chris Nelson Joins WDJT Milwaukee

Weigel-owned CBS affiliate WDJT Milwaukee has added meteorologist Chris Nelson to the CBS 58 Ready Weather team as the new weather anchor for the CBS 58 Morning News.

He joined Whitney Martin, Mike Curkov and Jessica Tighe on the 4:30-7 a.m. newscast.

With the addition of Nelson, the CBS 58 Ready Weather team includes five fulltime meteorologists to serve southeast Wisconsin viewers, more than any other Milwaukee television station, according to WDJT.

A Wisconsin native, Nelson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in atmospheric sciences. He received his Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal from the American Meteorological Society. He was also awarded “Best Weathercast” from the Wisconsin Broadcast Association in 2016. 

Nelson came to WDJT from WSAW Wausau, Wis., where he was chief meteorologist for two years. Prior to that, he worked in TV in Las Vegas.
