N.C. Stations Slot Tornado Relief Special

Bonten Media Group’s WCTI (ABC) and Esteem Broadcasting’s WFXI-WYDO (Fox) Greenville-New Bern-Washington, N.C. (DMA 101), will broadcast Day of Destruction: Time of Recovery, a two-hour special edition of NewsChannel 12 on Thursday April 21, from 5 to 7 p.m.

This special will be dedicated to stories of recovery and relief from the devastating tornadoes that hit Eastern Carolina last weekend. The program will also feature officials from The American Red Cross and Salvation Army with the latest relief information, and contact numbers and other ways that viewers can volunteer and donate.

The stations’ VP-GM Lyle Schulze said: “The staff of NewsChannel12, Fox Eastern Carolina and The Bonten Media Group have all been touched by the tragedy here in Eastern Carolina. It has dominated coverage on our air since Saturday afternoon.  The focus of this two-hour special is to assist and aid the victims; our viewers, our friends and our neighbors.”
