Bitcentral, which offers open-content workflow solutions to broadcasters, will demonstrate improvements to newsroom workflows.

The new products and features are designed to help professionals tell stories better and will include a browser-based editing system that enables newsrooms to collaborate and edit stories while being ingested from anywhere in the field, at anytime. New functional capabilities include improved logging and viewing by every user in the newsroom, the flexibility to easily version and publish to broadcast, Web, mobile and other connected devices; and the ability to work with existing multiplatform partners.  

The Bitcentral booth will feature an example station website and iPad app that “demonstrates the promise of a truly story-based multiplatform publishing workflow.” Like all Bitcentral products, the browser-based editor supports integration with the most popular broadcast video formats and newsroom editing systems.

Also debuting is an encoder application with instant replay that provides improved efficiencies for users of Bitcentral’s end-to-end workflow solution, Precis 4.0. The new encoder cuts the encode-to-playout delay to seconds. That means, during ongoing breaking news stories, video can be quickly turned around for air.

Also, Bitcentral has again broadened its integration portfolio. The most recent integration is with Adobe Premiere Pro which will be on display in Las Vegas.

In addition to these new products, Bitcentral will also demonstrate enhancements to its Oasis content management and archiving solution. Rights management and search facilities have been improved, and Bitcentral has introduced the ability to limit content duplicates that may clutter up station archives.
