Rentrak Adds Nexstar’s Memphis Duopoly

The measurement service has signed WPTY (ABC) and WLMT (CW) in a multi-year ratings contract.

Rentrak Corp. today announced a multi-year local TV ratings contract with Nexstar Broadcasting Group for its WPTY (ABC) and WLMT (CW) Memphis (DMA 49).

Nexstar, which began working with Rentrak in 2010 with three stations, now has a total of 10 stations in six different markets that use Rentrak’s advanced TV measurement service.

“Nexstar has been, and will always be, focused on new and enhanced marketing solutions for our clients,” said Tim Busch, Nexstar EVP-COO in a prepared statement. “Being able to provide our clients with viable and robust next generation information including geo-targeting and consumer segmentation with purchase behavior database overlays, is valuable in today’s television landscape.

“As such, we look to expanding our relationship with the services that Rentrak provides in our Memphis operations. The benefit of their systems and information is of great value to our advertisers in achieving unparalleled marketing solutions.”

Nexstar actually invested in something other than debt???? They don’t subscribe to Nielsen because at best in all their markets the highest they rank is #3 or #4.. If there were not no charge spots most od their stations would have a third less spots on their stations!!!!!
