‘Right This Minute’ Loses A Co-Host

The syndicated Right This Minute is heading into its fifth season this fall without original co-host Beth Troutman. She’s leaving the viral video show to host the evening news and late night news on Tegna’s NBC affiliate WCNC Charlotte, N.C., according to Phil Alvidrez, executive in charge of production at MagicDust Television, which produces the show for station groups Cox, Raycom and Scripps.

On the show, which is distributed by MGM Domestic Television Distribution, Troutman and co-hosts Christian Vera, Gayle Bass, Nick Calderone and Oli Pettigrew talk about online videos before they go viral. The co-hosts sometimes have a video chat with people in those videos.

Right This Minute this season is averaging a 1.6 household rating, up 45% year over year, according to Nielsen. It has a 0.9 rating among women 25-54, up 80%.

Right This Minute is cleared in more than 80% of TV homes for its new season this fall.
