Robb Ellis Named WIS Chief Meteorologist

Raycom Media-owned NBC affiliate WIS Columbia, S.C. (DMA 78), has added Robb Ellis to its First Alert Weather team as chief meteorologist. Ellis will make the move to Columbia in early March.

Ellis comes to WIS from WISH Indianapolis where he was the weekday evening meteorologist. Prior to joining WISH, Ellis was the chief meteorologist at WECT-WSFX Wilmington, N.C.

He has also worked at WFMY Greensboro, N.C., and spent seven years as a scientist and researcher working with the State Climate Offices of North and South Carolina.

Ellis grew up in Columbia, where he studied at the University of South Carolina before transferring to North Carolina State University to receive his degree in meteorology.
