Sinclair Broadcast Group announced Wednesday that it has engaged Moelis & Co. as its financial adviser in connection with the company’s potential sale of CBS affiliate WHP (CBS) in Harrisburg, Pa., together with the right to provide services to WLYH (CW) Harrisburg, WMMP (MNT) Charleston, S.C., and WABM (MNT) Birmingham, Ala. The potential sale of the stations had been previously proposed to the FCC in order to smooth the way for approval of its proposed $985 million purchase of Allbritton Communications’ television stations that it wants to close by July 27.

I feel Sinclair’s deal to acquire the TV stations from Allbritton will crash and burn very badly and is the Michael Cimino’s Heaven’s Gate of TV M&A deals tying with Young’s purchase of KRON. I favored the idea of wanting Hearst to acquire the Allbritton stations including WSET, WCIV, KATV, KTUL, and WBMA/WCFT/WJSU with purchasing WABM to help relay WBMA signal on a full power WABM DT2 digital subchannel to the Birmingham inner city proper. Hearst can give WJLA to ABC for WTVD to keep WBAL in Baltimore in which ABC use WJLA for live streaming on the web to join their other ABC network owned and operated stations and give WHTM and existing WMOR to Scripps for KMGH to keep WMAR in Baltimore. Meanwhile Sinclair Broadcast Group continues to engage in old rigid Paramount Pictures block booking and old RKO General bribery behavioral practices by forcing Buckeye cable subscribers to pay $2 for the privilege and right to carry WNWO and to carry the not yet launch cable news channel by taking WJLA’s News Channel 8 into a national news channel for Sinclair that isn’t yet on the air that Sinclair wants all the cable and satellite to carry the cable channel on cable and satellite basic tier as part of all retransmission consent contracts to put their news and opinions on the planned news channel that Sinclair will launch if their planned acquisition of TV stations from Allbritton were to go through the FCC, the FTC, and the DOJ in order for Buckeye Cable to carry WNWO again and it will means that David Smith, and Barry Faber, David Amy, and Sinclair will refuse and fail to allow Buckeye Cable to carry WNWO without Sinclair permission for the privilege and right to carry WNWO till Buckeye Cable is willing to have its subscribers be willing to pay $2 per subscribers for WNWO and used it to help launch the new cable news channel along with costs associated with Sinclair’s planned acquisition of Allbritton not yet approved by the FCC, the FTC, and the DOJ all under the order of David Smith, Barry Faber, David Amy, and Sinclair on the Buckeye CableSystem over in Toledo, Ohio. If Sinclair’s acquisition of TV station goes through, I feel David Smith, Barry Faber, David Amy, and Sinclair will fail to allow all the small, medium, and large size and scale MSOs to carry their stations without Sinclair’s permission til the MSOs is willing to agreed to pay $2 dollars for the privilege and right to carry Sinclair’s stations and agreed to carry the new cable news channel that Sinclair is using to take WJLA’s News Channel 8 into a national news channel for Sinclair that isn’t yet on the air that Sinclair wants all the cable and satellite to carry the cable channel on cable and satellite basic tier as part of all retransmission consent contracts by engaging in old rigid Paramount Pictures block booking and old RKO General bribery behavioral practices in retransmission consent deals to put their news and opinions on the planned news channel that Sinclair will launch if their planned acquisition of TV stations from Allbritton were to go through the FCC, the FTC, and the DOJ by gambling and self destructing their business future themselves by playing Russian Roulette.

Nexstar could be a real excellent candidate for WHP and WLYH with WHP gaining WHTM RF channel while WHTM gaining WHP RF channel, Raycom for WABM and WMMP with their stations in Birmingham and Charleston.

Nexstar doesn’t have the money, they overdid it and lost scores of revenue when some of their contracts collapsed.

No, the fact that Illinois is a Democratic Stronghold and with the Obama Administration targetting anything GOP (see IRS), you really want to believe that if they had a chance to come down on Sinclair, they would not? I find it hard to believe the story you are presenting without something more than an accusation. If it is true, it should be corrected. If OSHA investigated and found nothing, then your story is false. If it is true, there should be a record of it.

it was Sinclair that had the work to do at the station. Why would ownership and management let such a situation exist? And i hardly believe this is the only story of this nature.

Appears it happened 4 years ago in 2010. They were fined and it was corrected. That appears to be the only OSHA complaint for any part of Sinclair TV (Sinclair Telecable is a different company). As it is a Union shop according to the post, one wonders if one even notified management to have it corrected locally before getting OSHA involved. Regardless, as that was 4 years ago and the only complaint against Sinclair, there certainly does not seem to be a rash of Sinclair unsafe upkeep at Sinclair Properties as you suggest.

you need to call your manager at the station. he can give you the correct time frame, correct details about the most recent efforts to rid the building of the violations within the past 12 months. Management was notified and did nothing. Then OSHA was involved after refusal to fix the problems. You seem to very disconnected from what’s happen at your station level.

Still, all you do is point fingers and make accusation. It is not up to us to call the station manager to find out anything. You make the accusations, so go ahead proof them. Date, Time, People involved, report date filing date and the result of the OSHA inspections. Unless you are able to do this I have to assume you are nothing but a disgruntled ex employee that was shafted for something and now tries to accuse Sinclair of wrong doing. I used to work for Sinclair and I have never known them to not rectify a sincere complaint. They have always bend over backwards to fix problems and to invest into the infrastructure of their stations. So knowing that, I ask you again for proof, more than the incoherent ramblings you provided.

I do not work for Sinclair so I am not disconnected. I am using your statements and OSHA’s extensive database which show all complaints and the date which is in the above URL. They are all from August 2010. You seem to be the one disconnected from reality.
