What would make The Weather Channel more relevant, more engaging, and more watchable is if it were to be able to go to the local television stations where weather is happening live. Perhaps Sinclair sees this as a possibility.

Hopefully, Sinclair would discontinue the Weather Channel’s show programming. I want to know what the weather is…. not 30 minutes of “what happens in an earthquake,” or “how to protect yourself in a tornado.” Boring shows, right when you want to know the weather. It’s only coincidental that Sinclair purchased a majority interest in Weather Nation, airing it on most systems right next to the Weather Channel. It’s weather when you want it, as an alternative to the boring shows that the Weather Channel programs.

The Weather Channel is a disaster. Awful “reality” programs, non-stop weather hype, made up inane “storm” names, mind-numbing commercial glut. One hot mess.

Network needs to get back to its roots. Sinclair would not be the answer – cost cutting beyond ridiculous, not to mention their political agenda which they are not shy in using their stations to promote.

Sinclair’s deal to buy Weather Channel has a 100% chance of factoring into Sinclair’s retransmission consent tying and bundling strategies…. Please Follow Me On Twitter: @TedatACA

Nonsense, Ted you need to get a grip on reality…

Most subscribers gave up on The Weather Channel long ago. It has zero leverage in retrans. negotiations.

The value at this point lies in the infra structure not the few and in between subscribers and retrans agreements like Ted the shill believes. He needs to wake up and join the 21st century…his thinking and business ideas are antiquated and doomed. Unless he and his masters are getting a grip on what is really happen in the industry… and quick….. they are doomed to be a footnote in history books…

The Weather Channel is terrible, I have not watched it since they went to all the reality programming. Weather Nation has restored my weather needs!
