Tammie Souza Returns To WFLD Chicago

Tammie Souza returns to WFLD as the Fox Chicago O&O’s weekend meteorologist. Scheduled to make her first on-air appearance Saturday, Jan. 29, Souza will initially contribute to Fox Chicago News at 9 p.m. Weekend.

Most recently, Souza has been the chief meteorologist at WTSP Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fla., a position she held for nearly three years. Prior to that, she was a meteorologist with WFLD for two years, contributing to the station’s morning and noon newscasts.

Earlier in her career, Souza was weekend meteorologist for WMAQ Chicago. She has also held meteorologist positions with WDJT Milwaukee and KHSL Chico, Calif.

A graduate of San Diego State University, Souza holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and environmental science. She received a second Bachelor’s Degree in geoscience and meteorology, in addition to a broadcast meteorology certification, from Mississippi State University. Souza is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist, the highest certification awarded by the American Meteorological.
