‘Valley View Live!’ To Premiere This Fall On KTNV

Journal Broadcast Group’s ABC affiliate KTNV Las Vegas (DMA 42) will introduce a new daily, locally produced entertainment and information program starting this fall. Valley View Live! will premiere Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.

“We want to do something different,” said KTNV EVP-GM Jim Prather. “Every station is doing lots of local news in the afternoon, but no one is doing a live and local show like this.”

Valley View Live! will be hosted by three station personalities: Rikki Cheese, Dao Vu and Megan Telles. Cheese is an anchor-reporter at the station; Vu is co-host of The Morning Blend (another daily local program on KTNV) and Telles is KTNV’s social media manager.

The show will also feature a fourth guest host who will change on a regular basis. Each local show will feature “hot-topic” discussions, comedy and music.

Anchor and reporter Rikki Cheese joined the Action News team in 2003. She is a Las Vegas native and attended Rancho and Clark High Schools before completing her degree in broadcasting at UNLV. She worked at stations in Seattle and Dallas before returning to Las Vegas. Currently Cheese anchors Action News Live at 3 and 3:30 on weekdays, and reports on other KTNV news shows.

Megan Telles joined the Action News Team in August 2012. After a few months of filling in on Good Morning Las Vegas and making live appearances on The Morning Blend, she was promoted to reporter for the hour-long 3 p.m. newscast. Today she continues to report on social media issues each weekday on Action News Live @ 3. She also serves as Las Vegas correspondent for OK! TV. Previously she produced stories for MTVu, UWire.com and The San Diego Union-Tribune.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Originally from Washington state, Vu studied at the University of Washington. She worked as a national host for The Weather Channel and the syndicated program The Daily Buzz. Vu moved to Las Vegas four years ago to co-host The Morning Blend on KTNV. She will continue to co-host The Blend.
